Tadawul closes at 4-month low Monday

Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) closed Monday with a fall of 3.07% or 203.72 points to 6,425 points; the lowest level since20 January, when the index declined 4.99% or 286 points.

Trading volume reached 298 million shares exchanged at SAR 6.2 billion through 160,000 transactions.

The bourse’s sectors fell collectively, headed by the media and publishing, hotels and tourism and Insurance as they shrank 8.66%, 6.27% and 6.06% respectively.

Al Yamamah Steel was the best performing stock after adding 4.55% to SAR 41.40, followed by Basic Chemical Industries with a growth of 0.48% to SAR 27.10.

Meanwhile, Medgulf topped decliners by dropping 10% to SAR 20.45, followed by MetLife AIG ANB Cooperative Insurance with a decrease of 9.97% to SAR 24.75.

 Alinma Bank was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 64 million shares, while Al Yamamah Steel made the highest liquidity with SAR 1.1 billion.
