EGX gains 50 pts in early trade

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) kicked off Wednesday’s session on a positive note as the benchmark EGX 30 rose 0.66% or 50 points to the level of 7,500 points, backed by blue chips.

The EGX 70 index also grew 0.31% to 374 points, the equal-weighted EGX 50 advanced 0.50% to 1,406 points and the EGX 100 moved 0.35% up to 785 points.

Global Telecom, EFG Hermes, CIB, Pioneers Holding, SODIC and TMG Holding opened in the green zone.

Turnover reached EGP 37 million as 8 million shares were exchanged.

Egyptian and Arab purchases came to EGP 1.5 million, while sales by foreign investors amounted to EGP 2.5 million.

Sabaa Pharmaceutical, Beltone Financial Holding and Edita Food topped were the best performing stocks, while Domty, Egyptian Media Production City and Cairo Development and Investment were the worst performers.

The EGX 30 rose yesterday by 1.08% or 80.25 points to the level of 7,497.3 points.
