ADX snaps 3-day gains amid lower trades

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) reversed the uptrend it witnessed for three successive sessions amid a decline in trading activity, pressured by the fall of real estate and banks sectors.

The general index fell 0.12% or 5.12% to 4,283.49 points.

Turnover stood at AED 105.60 million on Thursday, compared to AED 134.43 million on Wednesday.

Trading volume reached 91 million shares, compared to 85.09 million shares.

The investment sector led losers after falling 0.94%.

The real estate sector retreated 0.42% as RAK Properties and Aldar Properties lost 1.67% and 0.38%, respectively.

The banks sector levelled down 0.2% due to a decline in National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) by 2.79% and 1.16%, respectively.

On the flipside, the energy sector was the best performer with a 1.06% rise, backed by Dana Gas which increased 1.89%.

Eshraq Properties was the value leader after generating AED 27 million from the exchange of 33.8 million shares.
