QSE rises 0.11% for 2nd session

Doha-Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed in the green for the second successive session on Thursday, backed by the industrial and banks sectors.

The general index rose 0.11% or 10.74 points to 9,716.48 points.

The consumer staples sector advanced 1.01%, followed by the banks, industrial and transportation sectors at 0.48%, 0.38% and 0.04%, respectively.

The transportation sector led losers after declining 0.66%, followed by the real estate and insurance sectors at 0.6% each.

Gulf International Services topped gainers with a 2.51% rise, generating 1,810 shares from the exchange of QAR 70.43 million.

Qatar Oman Investment Co. went up 0.63%, while Commercial Bank of Qatar and Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) increased by 0.13% and 0.11%, respectively.

Trading volume reached 4.73 million shares on Thursday, compared to 4.16 million shares on Wednesday.

Turnover stood at QAR 185.27 million, compared to QAR 142.58 million.
