Riyadh – Mubasher: The GCC Electricity and Water Cooperation Committee meeting was a fruitful one after approving a unified water strategy for GCC member states, said Saudi Arabia’s minister of environment, water and agriculture Abdurrahman Abdul Mohsen Al-Fadli  on Thursday.

Speaking on the sidelines of the committee meeting in Riyadh, the minister noted that the meeting encouraged water link projects among the countries.

Al-Fadli declined to discuss the details of the electricity linkage projects in the Gulf.

He told Mubasher that these projects primarily focus on increasing the agreements to deliver electricity to consumers.

Regarding the new electricity link projects, the minister noted that there are research and studies in the electricity field are ongoing, in addition there are studied to launch new projects for water linking.
