EGX slips on Egyptian selling on Thursday

Cairo-Mubasher: The Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) saw a positive performance on Thursday, pressured by local investors’ sales.

The benchmark EGX30 fell 0.16% to reach 7,531.2 points.

The EGX70 and EGX100 indices declined 0.42% and 0.27% to 373.7 points and 785 points, respectively. Similarly, the EGX50 index retreated 0.35% to 1,402 points.

The market witnessed a turnover amounting to EGP 522.5 million. A total of 43 companies rose, while 90 declined and 37 remained unchanged.

Foreign institutions were net buyers with EGP 58.4 million, while Egyptian and Arab institutions were net sellers with EGP 34.3 million and EGP 1.5 million, respectively.

Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 58 million and EGP 4.6 million, respectively. Meanwhile, local investors were net sellers with EGP 62.6 million.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) fell 0.28% to EGP 42.63, with a turnover of EGP 144.2 million.

Wadi Kom Ombo, Minapharm, Misr Oils, ELMACO and Rowad Tourism fell between 7.5% and 5%.

Cairo Poultry, Arab Cotton Ginning, Union National Bank – Egypt, EIPICO and Medical Packaging fell between 5% and 2.3%.
