Tadawul ends Thursday down, petrochemicals gain

Riyadh – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) lost 0.52% or 34 points to reach 6,482.48 points at the closing of Thursday’s session.

A total of 206.6 million shares were traded at a turnover of SAR 4.2 billion through 113,700 transactions, while a total of 123 stocks ended in the red, 41 in the green and 5 remained stable.

All of Tadawul’s sectors closed in the red, with the exception of petrochemicals and agriculture, which gained 0.34% and 0.48%, respectively, whereas the banking sector was the biggest loser with 0.96%.

Tabuk Agriculture led risers, adding 5.78%, followed by SASCO and Filing and Packing Materials, which added 3.62% and 2.42% to SAR 16.05 and SAR 39.4, respectively.

On the other hand, Arabia Insurance topped fallers, losing 4.71% to SAR 9.1, followed by Al Yamamah Steel and Salama Insurance which retreated 4.57% and 4.25% to SAR 38.3 and SAR 13.3, respectively.

Alinma Bank was the most actively traded with 43.7 million shares followed by Kayan and Wafa insurance with 8.5 million shares and 8 million shares, respectively.
