ADX rises on real estate, telecom stocks

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a downward trend on Sunday, spurred by the rise of banks and telecom sectors.

The general index rose 0.32% or 13.70 points to reach 4,297.19 points.

Turnover stood at AED 83.177 million after trading 91.535 million shares through 472 transactions.

The banks sector topped gainers after adding 0.56%, backed by National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) which grew 2.37% and 1.33%, respectively.

The telecom sector went up 0.29% as Etisalat rose 0.29%.

The real estate sector was the worst performer after losing 0.56%, pressured by Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties which slid 1.79% and 0.39%, respectively.

Eshraq was the value leader after generating AED 9.33 million from the exchange of 11.66 million shares.

The energy sector retreated 0.38% due a decline in TAQA by 1.67%.
