Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Monday on a negative note for the fifth session in a row, amid a collective fall in all sectors.
The benchmark MSM 30 dropped 0.88% or 51.9 points to the level of 5,838.56 points.
Trading volume increased 142.7% to 23.49 million shares from 9.68 million shares exchanged on Sunday, turnover also rose 96.3% to OMR 4.71 million from OMR 2.4 million.
The financial, services and industrial sectors retreated by 1.04%, 0.76% and 0.4% respectively.
Oman Emirates Holding was the worst performing sector after shrinking 4.93%, followed by Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing which fell by 4.56%.
Oman ORIX Leasing was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 4.62 million shares, while Ominvest made the highest liquidity of OMR 747,880.
