QSE sheds 124 pts at close; all sectors down

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) ended Monday’s trading in the red zone, amid a collective decline in all sectors.

The main index shrank 1.28% or 123.62 points to the level of 9,675.66 points.

Trading volume rose 83.2% to 3.59 million shares from 1.96 million shares exchanged yesterday, turnover also increased 107.9% to QAR 134.5 million from QAR 64.7 million.

The telecom was the worst performing sector as Ooredoo and Vodafone Qatar dropped 2.74% and 1.18% respectively.

The banking sector retreated 1.55%, pressured by the fall in Doha Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank and Al Khalij Commercial Bank by 2.77%, 2.66% and 2.47% respectively.

The real estate sector decreased 0.84% as Barwa, Mazaya Qatar and Ezdan declined 2.59%, 1.48% and 0.35% respectively.

The bourse’s main gauge closed yesterday at the level of 9,675.66 points.
