Kuwait bourse closes in green on real estate

Kuwait – Mubasher: The price index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) ended Monday’s trading with a rise of 0.34% or 18.22 points to the level of 5,366.14 points, compared to 5,347.92 points on Sunday.

The weighted and Kuwait-15 indices also gained by 0.42% and 0.60% respectively.

Turnover decreased 18.8% to KWD 10.01 million from KWD 12.33 million on Sunday, while trading volume increased 0.2% to 110.35 million shares from 110.13 million shares.

The real estate sector was the best performer after adding 1.04% as Tamdeen Real Estate, Mena Real Estate and Munshaat Real Estate Projects grew by 5.88%, 5% and 3.85% respectively.

The telecom sector also rose 0.74% and the banks sector advanced 0.11%.

On the other hand, the industrial and consumer goods sectors declined by 0.06% and 0.10% respectively.

IFA Hotels and Resorts topped gainers, adding 9.6% to 28.5 fils, while Kuwait Cable Vision led decliners after falling 11.11% to 20 fils.

Hits Telecom Holding was the largest-traded stock with a volume of 12.7 million shares, whereas Americana made the highest liquidity of KWD 1.53 million.
