Riyadh – Mubasher: Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) said that the recent temporary shutdown of its (Ethane Cracker Unit) ECR is expected to have a negative impact on the gross profit margin for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2016.

The value of the negative impact is estimated of SAR 350 million.

This temporary shutdown came in the framework of a precautionary shutdown until the repairing a damage of one of the turbines.

The firm stated earlier that is expected to begin restarting the unit 14 July 2016, after obtaining the required new spare parts from the manufacturer to implement the full repair work.

Petro Rabigh clarified that the value of the financial impact of such shut down is approximate as it is subject to the fluctuations of prices during the current period.
