Egypt buys 300,000 tonnes of wheat from Russia, Romania

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Public Authority of Supply will import 300,000 tonnes of wheat from Russian and Romania after the latter has tendered for a contract, said the Ministry of Supply in a press release on Sunday.

Both Russia and Romania will deliver respectively 120,000 and 180,000 tonnes at an average price of $173.3 per tonne in order to strengthen the strategic reserve until the end of the year, the press release revealed.

Four days ago, the Egyptian contract signed a contract with Russia and Ukraine to receive 180,000 tonnes ithin ten days starting from the tenth of August at an average price of $173.3 per tonne/

The authority buys wheat through commodity exchanges and different sources like Russia, France, Ukraine, Romania, US, Austria, and other countries to secure its strategic reserve.
