Tadawul loses SAR 15bn in week

Riyadh – Mubasher: The main index of Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) fell in the third week of July by 0.91% or 65.65 points to the level of 6,601 points, versus 6,661.65 points reached in the previous week.

The market capitalisation shrank by SAR 14.9 billion to SAR 1.522 trillion from SAR 1.537 billion in the previous week.

Turnover decreased by 13.5% to SAR 18.29 billion from SAR 21.15 billion in the second week of July, trading volume also fell by 29.25% to 989.5 million shares from 1.4 billion shares.

The industrial investment sector was the worst performer after falling by 3.63%, followed by the hotel and tourism sector with a decrease of 3.56%, then the bank sector with a 1% drop.

On the other hand, the petrochemicals, agriculture and telecom sectors rose by 0.9%, 0.67% and 0.27 % respectively.

United Wire Factories was the week’s best performing share after adding 12%, while Fawaz Abdulaziz Al Hokair led decliners with a fall of .83%.

Al Inma Bank was the most active stock as 2.86 million shares were exchanged at SAR 2.86 billion.
