Tadawul hits two-month low

Mubasher - Riyadh: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) ended Sunday’s session down for the fourth session in a row, closing at 6523 points, slipping 77 points or 1.17%.

Trading volume reached 220.7 million shares, exchanged at a turnover of SAR 3.59 billion ($1.05 billion).

All sectors ended the session in red, with the real estate development leading the losers, losing 2.6%.

The agriculture sector came in second with a 1.86% decline, then the hotels with 1.66%.

Alinma Bank levelled down 1.6%, despite recording positive quarter financial results. The bank’s stock was the most traded, representing 15.5% of total trading volume.

A total of 140 stocks levelled down today, with Dar Al-Arkan declining 9.17%, Arabian Cement 4.8%, and Bupa Arabia 4.6%.

On the other hand, only 24 stocks rose today. National Insurance was the biggest gainer with 6.1%, then BCI with 5.2% and Cooperative Insurance (Tawuniya) with 4.2%.

The market was pressured by lower cash dividends by some companies which gave negative expectations for their future performance, financial analyst Ahmad Alyoussef told Mubasher.
