EGX ends in green zone on Arab investors buying spree

Cairo– Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices rose collectively on Sunday supported by the buying activity of the Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.36% or 26.85 points to close at 7,463.72 points.

The stocks of the heavy weighted Commercial Interantional Bank went up by 0.45%, followed by the stocks of Juhayna, SODIC and EFG-Hermes that gained 5.75%, 1.12% and 0.17% respectively.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 inched up 0.09% to 358.37 points. Following suit, the broader index EGX100 rose 0.17% to 764.57 points.

The equal weighted index EGX50 added 0.64% to the level of 1,332.36 points.

The market witnessed 79 million shares changed hands worth EGP 236.6 million. Out of 169 shares traded today, 50 stocks ended in green zone while 65 stocks surged and the remaining 54 stocks stayed unchanged.

Arab investors ended as net buyers with EGP 20.4 million, while local and foreign investors ended as net sellers with EGP 13.4 million and EGP 7 million respectively.

The market capitalization gained EGP 271.5 million to reach EGP 399.7 billion, compared with EGP 399.4 billion in the previous session.
