Mubasher: GCC stock markets are likely to keep giving a volatile performance on Monday as traders share worrying sentiment about global markets in spite of some companies' positive financial disclosures, said analysts.

The escalating violence in Europe, namely after Munich attack, played a role in Sunday's varied performance, market analyst Adnan Al-Dulaimi told Mubasher.

He expected major GCC equity markets to see sell-offs and cautious trading activity as its major stocks have ticked a level opening the door for profit-taking.

Al-Dulaimi noted that the second quarter financial results are significantly affecting the stocks' movement, namely on the Saudi Stock Exchange.

Likewise, capital market analyst Hamoud Al-Shammari said investors will likely tend to leave their securities traded in the market for taking profits. Such tendency is to continue until they have a clearer outlook on the current economic situation, which is similar to the global crisis in 2008, Al-Shammari concluded.
