Qatari bourse opens in red on banks

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QE) main index declined in Monday’s early trading by 0.02% or 2.16 points to the level of 10,483.4 points.

By 10:02am Doha time, traded volume reached 337,220 shares exchanged at QAR 14.6 million through 373 transactions.

The index was negatively affected by the fall in banks’ stocks as QNB and Masraf Al Rayan dropped by 0.26% and 0.29% respectively. The two stocks constitute about 22% of the index’s volume.

Ezdan Holding and Industries Qatar also fell 0.51% and 0.29% respectively.

The consumer goods and services sector was the worst performer losing 0.7%, while transportation was down -0.49%, banks -0.31% and telecom -0.09%.

Meanwhile, the real estate and industrial sectors rose 0.29% and 0.25% respectively, while the insurance sector was flat.
