Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwaiti government will study a proposal by the cabinet’s financial committee to exempt citizens from the increase of fuel prices which will be effective in September, said speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly Marzouq Al-Ghanim.

The government will apply its decision of raising fuel prices next month, while the National Assembly sticks to the financial committee’s proposal which targets the direct subsidy provided for Kuwaitis, Al-Ghanim posted on the official twitter account of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, Moody’s said on Monday that raising fuel prices “will be helpful for implementing the State tight-belt policy and lowering spending,” according to the recent issued report.
