MSM down on financial, services sectors

Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Monday’s trading session losing 0.05% or 3.02 points and closing at 5906.71 points.

The main index was dragged down by the financial and services sectors’ stocks, with the latter declining 0.26%, as Renaissance Services, Oman Investment and Finance lost 2.13% and 1.48% respectively.

The financial and industrial sectors also shrunk today by 0.11% and 0.01% respectively.

Oman ORIX led the session’s gainers, adding 3.45%, while Al Hassan was the biggest loser with a 2.5% decline.

Bank Nizwa was the most active in terms of traded volume with 4.19 million shares, while Bank Muscat registered the highest traded value of OMR 1.17 million.

Total traded volume decreased to 17 million shares from 19.21 million on Sunday. Total turnover also declined to OMR 3.7 million from OMR 3.72 million in the last session.
