Mubasher: JP Morgan on Friday announced that it will list Islamic bonds, or sukuk, for the first time in its emerging markets indices.

The listing will be carried out later in 2016, it said in a statement it sent to clients.

The global investment bank said it decided to list 8 sukuk on its index starting 31 October.

Dollar-denominated sukuk will be included in JPMorgan's EMBI Global Diversified index, the note said, adding that sukuk will be from countries including Turkey, Malaysia and Indonesia.
