ADX closes higher amid thin liquidity Tuesday

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Tuesday, spurred by the rise of most sectors led by the banks and energy.

The main index advanced 0.55% or 24.85 points to reach 4,535.40 points.

Trading volume reached 50.34 million shares on Tuesday, compared to 117.93 million shares on Monday. Turnover stood at AED 131.07 million, compared to AED 163.13 million.

The banks sector was the best performer after adding 1.11%, backed by First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) which advanced 1.06% and 0.3% respectively.

The energy sector went up 1.06% due to a rise in Dana Gas by 1.82%, whereas the energy sector trimmed the sector’s gains after losing 1.89%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector slid 0.47% as Aldar Properties went down 0.71%.

FGB was the value leader after generating AED 22.4 million, while Eshraq Properties was the most active company after generating 12.63 million shares.
