Egypt bourse snaps two-session losing streak

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has closed on Tuesday in green zone on buying activity of foreign investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 went up 0.46% or 37.6 points to close at 8,224.3 points, while the small and medium caps index EGX70 added 0.42% to 363.36 points.

The broader index EGX100 inched up 0.34% to 810.5 points. Similarly the weighted index EGX50 gained 060% to 1,104.15 points.

Foreign investors came as net buyers with EGP 57.9 million, while local and Arab investors ended as net sellers with EGP 26.3 million and EGP 31.6 million respectively.

Retail investors ended as net buyers with EGP 5.7 million, while institutions came as net sellers.

The market witnessed 158 million shares changed hands worth EGP 482.9 million.

The index’s top performing constituents were Egyptian Iron and Steel, up 6.8%, Arabian Cement Company, up 5.8%, and Arabia Investments, up 4.4%. On the flip side, the worst performers were Edita Food Industries, down 3.7%, Emaar Misr, down 3.5%, and GB Auto, down 2.0%.
