Doha – Mubasher: The main index of Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) lost 1.64% or 185.58 points to reach 11,134.81 points by the week ended 25 August.
Turnover decreased 62.13% to QAR 808.47 million this week from QAR 2.13 billion a week ago, as trading volume shrank 60.3% to 19.86 million shares from 50 million in the past week.
QSE’s market cap lost 1.63% or QAR 9.87 billion ($2.71 billion) to reach QAR 595.48 billion ($163.51 billion) by the end of this week from QAR 605.35 billion ($166.22 billion) a week ago.
The telecom sector headed the decliners by 4.08%.
Shares of 44 instruments were traded of which 4 rose, 38 fell, and 2 remained unchanged.
Qatar National Bank recorded the highest liquidity that reached QAR 97.9 million, as about 597,300 shares were exchanged. The stock fell 0.6% over the week.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active stock on which 2.86 million shares were traded at a value of QAR 34.51 million. The stock dropped 1.23%.
