Cairo – Mubasher: The number of arriving tourists to Egypt from all over the world reached 529,900 tourists during July 2016 compared to 911,600 tourists during the similar period of 2015, down 41.9%.

The most important countries that influenced the decline were Russia as it recorded a decrease of 60% %, followed by the UK by 17.5 %, Germany by 10.4 %, and Boland by 3.8 %, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS).

On other hand, the Middle East was the top region for sending tourists during July 2016 by 37.3%.

The number of arriving tourists from Arab countries reached 233,500 tourists during July 2016 compared to 182, 2000 tourists during the same month in 2015, an increase of 28.1%.

The tourism sector, a vital part of the economy and a key source of hard currency, has been hard-hit by last year’s downing of a Russian airliner where 224 people onboard were killed.
