Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange opened Monday's trading session on a mixed note by 10:45am Cairo time.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 50.34 points, or 0.63%, to reach 8,102.6 points.

Meanwhile the small and mid-cap EGX70 and broader index EGX 100 declined 0.55% to 356.7 points and 0.02% to 803 points, respectively.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 increased 0.8% to the mark of 1,377.6 points.

Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 10.2 million, while Egyptians and Arab were net buyers by EGP 5.8 million and EGP 4.4 million, respectively.

Trading value reached EGP 73 million after 20.6 million shares were traded.

Out of 96 stocks trading, 43 were up, 13 down, and 40 flat.  

Ayman Fouda, head of capital market committee at the African Economic Council, expected profit-taking and speculators to control the trading activity today.

He indicated that the benchmark index is facing resistance at 8,130-180 points, while having support at the area extending from 8,000 points to 7,900 points.
