Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange’s benchmark index closed Thursday with rising 0.3% or 6.4 points to the level of 2,139.67points.
Bank of Jordan topped gainers advancing 5.81%, followed by Jordan Islamic Bank (JIB) and Cairo Amman Bank which went up 0.81% and 1.59%, respectively.
Al Amal Financial Investment was the most active in terms of traded volume by exchanging 905,310 shares.
The industrial and services sectors were down 1.65% and 0.08% respectively, weighted by Lafarge Cement and Al Eqbal Investment Co. which lost 4.73% and 3.89%, respectively.
The services shed 0.06%, on the back of Jordan National Shipping Lines and Jordanian Duty Free Shops Company which fell 1.37% and 0.7%, respectively.
Trading volume reached 8.12 million shares on Thursday, compared to 32.6 million shares on Wednesday, while trading value retreated to JOD 8.4 million from JOD 30.5 million yesterday.
