Tadwul closes Wednesday in red

Riyadh - Mubasher: The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadwul) continued its negative run, as its main index ended Wednesday’s trading session losing 3.42% or 196.36 points closing at 5534.43 points.

On Tuesday, Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) recorded its highest losses since January, and dropped 3.79% or 225.9 points.

These losses come after the Saudi King announced austerity measures, and also due to the negative news regarding the next OPEC summit where members are expected not to agree on production level.

All sectors declined today, led by Hotels which lost 7.95%, and followed by media and publishing, building and construction, with 6.65% and 5.87%.

The petrochemicals and the banking sectors decreased 3.61%, while real estate and energy lost 2.76% and 1.1% respectively.

Total turnover increased 10.8% compared to Tuesday’s session and reached SAR 4.43 billion, its highest level in two months.

Only 6 stocks rose today led by Zain and Halawani which gained 3.69% and 1.41% respectively, while 169 declined led by Al-Babtain which dropped 9.97%.
