Kuwaiti bourse’s indices rise in Q3

Kuwait – Mubasher: The Kuwaiti bourse saw a positive performance during the third quarter of 2016, with market cap gaining KWD 33 million ($109.31 million).

During Q3, the benchmark index of Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) rose 0.63% or 33.82 points to reach 5,398.39 points as compared with 5,364.57 points in the second quarter of 2016.

The weighted index also advanced 0.12% or 0.43 points to reach 351.87 points this quarter, compared to 351.44 points in the previous quarter.

Kuwait-15 index grew 4% or 8.4 points to 814.1 points in Q3 from 805.71 points in Q2.

KSE’s turnover shrank 59.5% to KWD 379.65 million in the third quarter as compared to KWD 749.3 million in Q2, while trading volume decreased 49.3% to 3.66 billion shares this quarter from 9.03 billion in Q2.

Transactions reached about 105,090 in the third quarter as compared to nearly 199,430 in the previous quarter; a decline of 47.3%.

KSE’s market cap increased 0.14% to KWD 24.326 billion ($80.58 billion) during the third quarter compared with KWD 24.293 billion ($80.47 billion) in Q2.
