MoF and FCSA sign cooperation agreement

 Dubai, 18 October, 2016: As part of its belief in the importance of cooperating with government institutions and strengthening strategic partnership, the Ministry of Finance (MoF), signed a cooperation agreement with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority (FCSA) at GITEX Technology Week 2016. The agreement aims to strengthen technical cooperation between the two parties and encourage the exchange of financial and economic information.

 

The agreement was signed by HE Younis Haji Al Khoori, Undersecretary of MoF; and HE Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director General of the FCSA, in the presence of HE Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Undersecretary of Resources and Budget Sector at MoF; HE Musabah Al Suwaidi, Assistant Undersecretary of Support Services Sector at MoF, in addition to a number of heads of departments and employees from the Ministry and FCSA and visitors.

 

HE Younis Haji Al Khoori stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and joint work between different government entities to benefit the financial and monetary policies, and achieve sustainable development in UAE. HE Al Khoori said: “The Ministry of Finance is committed to enhance coordination between different local and federal government entities in common fields, by signing cooperation agreements and strategic partnerships with government institutions in the country. This will help in achieving common areas of interest, supporting positive cooperation and developing government work environment in UAE.”

 

HE Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director General of FCSA extended his gratitude to the Ministry’s role with the team from FCSA, particularly in terms of the global competitiveness reports. HE Lootah said: “The Ministry of Finance is a strategic partner to the Global Competitiveness Report in financial and economic sectors in UAE, to achieve the National Agenda and UAE Vision 2021. The Ministry plays a significant role with its link to global entities that publish global competitiveness reports such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).”

HE Lootah added: “We will continue to strengthen the joint efforts between federal and local government entities to enhance and develop the services provided to UAE nationals and residents. This will raise the UAE and its institutions performance in global competiveness reports.”

 

The agreement stipulates the cooperation between both parties in a number of projects, particularly designing the UAE’s financial and economic indicators page, exchanging knowledge and experiences on best practices in common fields, activating joint cooperation in financial affairs, providing training and hosting lectures and conferences as well as technical cooperation between both parties.

 

The parties will organise regular meetings to establish joint programmes and activities, as well as conduct periodic assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of joint cooperation. Both parties are required to provide relevant information and data relating to their cooperation.

 

MoF is participating in 36th GITEX Technology Week under the federal e-government stand, which is currently being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. MoF’s participation reflects its commitment to strengthen communication channels with customers, and identify their needs to enhance the government services provided. The Ministry is

organising a number of interactive workshops entitled “Customer’s Voice” to review the latest developments on its smart services.
