Mubasher: The benchmark MSM 30 index of the Muscat Securities Market fell this week by 1.73% or 97.91 points to the level of 5,562.31 points.

Trading volume decreased 12.4% to 112.57 million shares from 128.56 million shares exchanged last week, turnover also declined 9.2% to OMR 20.51 million from OMR 22.58 million.

The market capitalisation shrank this week by 0.54% to OMR 17.031 billion from OMR 17.395 billion last week.

The industrial sector slid 1.67% as Construction Material Industry and Al Hassan Engineering declined by 6.45% and 6.06% respectively.

The financial sector retreated 1.43% due to a fall of 7.2% in Ominvest, 6.37% in Bank Sohar and 6.06% in Al Izz Islamic Bank. The services sector fell 0.9%.
