EGX ends Monday lower near 8,200 points

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange finished Monday's trading session in the red territory amid foreign and national selling activity.

The benchmark index EGX30 lost 46 points, or 0.6%, to close at 8228.13 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 fell 0.72% to 333.05 points.

The broader index EGX100 edged down 0.4% to 790.53 points and the equal-weighted index EGX50 was lower 0.8% to the mark of 1,254.95 points.

National and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 1.5 million and EGP 885,000 respectively, while Arab traders were net buyers by EGP 2.4 million.

Trading value reached EGP 555.5 million after 111.7 million shares were traded in 16,000 transactions.  

Market capitalization shed EGP 2.4 billion to end the session at EGP 405.2 billion.

Medical Packaging Company was the best advancer with a rise of 8.3%, while the worst performer was Misr Beni Suef Cement (-9.3%).
