ENOC marks 20 years of jet fuel business with expanding global footprint

Dubai, United Arab Emirates; October 25, 2016: Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) has recently extended its jet fuel supply capability to Hong Kong, South Korea, Oman, Kenya and Rwanda, establishing a solid global presence in 112 airports across 16 countries.

Celebrating two decades of fuel supply and operations this year, ENOC works with local suppliers at international airports for supply of jet fuel to its customers and has achieved a steady growth in international sales volumes, selling in excess of 40 million US Gallons (USGs) per year outside the UAE.

His Excellency, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, said: “Since its inception in 1996, our aviation division has become a significant player in the region’s aviation sector. After establishing operations at Dubai International Airport 20 years ago, the company’s jet fuel supply has seen exponential growth. Today it supplies in excess of 10 million litres of jet fuel per day to a diversified portfolio of clients.”

“Bolstered by Dubai’s rapidly growing aviation sector ENOC owes its success to the evolving story of this great Emirate,” he added.

Headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, ENOC is notable for providing majority of all jet fuel needs at Dubai International Airport (DXB). Considered as one of the sterling success stories of UAE entities going global, ENOC has had an international presence in aviation since 2002. Since then, ENOC’s aviation business has formed similar agreements, providing jet fuel to over 70 customers across airports in the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia.

“Jet fuel makes up a significant portion of the operating expenses for an airline, so formulating agreements with major carriers is a competitive tender process. Through the team’s unique business acumen and dedication, along with Dubai’s burgeoning aviation sector, this business has grown significantly, and is ready to facilitate the continuous growth of the Emirate’s aviation sector,” added Al Falasi.

ENOC’s aviation business unit received an appreciation award for the completion of 10 years as an Associate Member of the Joint Inspection Group (JIG) – a body that represents the global aviation fuel industry and ensures standards for aviation fuel handling, quality control and aircraft refuelling operations.
