Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai has attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) worth AED 17.7 billion during the first half of 2016, according to a recent report by The Dubai Investment Development Agency (Dubai FDI).

New projects in Dubai grew 16% to reach 279 in 2015 as compared to 240 projects in 2014, the report noted.

Foreign direct investment in Dubai is expected to increase by 5% annually until 2021, assistant secretary general of the strategy management and governance sector at The Executive Council of Dubai, Aisha Miran, said.

The overall FDI in Dubai amounted to AED 28.6 billion ($7.8 billion) in 2015, according to the report fDi Markets, a service from the Financial Times.
