Cairo – Mubahser: The Egyptian Exchange closed on positive note on Thursday amid buying activity by Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 went up by 1.04% or 86.1 points to close at 8,343.3 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP4.6 billion reaching EGP411.1 billion.

The small and medium caps index EGX70 added 1.48% to 339.3 points, while the broader index EGX100 gained 0.94% to 799.7 points. Similarly, the equal weighted index went up 1.84% to 1,304.18 points.

The stock of heavy weighed Commercial International Bank went up 0.97% to EGP 52.

Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 29.9 million, While local and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 22.8million and EGP 7.1 million respectively.

Institutions were buyers by EGP 50.6 million, while retail investors were sellers.

The market witnessed 237.7 million shares changed hands worth EGP 608.8 million.

Out of 163 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 110 to 27, while 26 stocks remained unchanged.
