Mubasher: The main index of the Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended this week losing 1.17% or 65.26 points and closed at the level of 5,497.05 points.

The index was dragged down by the sectors’ losses, as the financial, industrial, and services sector all went down by 1.83%, 0.86%, and 0.47% respectively.

Only foreign investors leaned towards selling, netting OMR 1.6 million, while Omani, Arab, and gulf investors were net buyers OMR 1.23 million, OMR 140,100, and OMR 230,380 respectively.

National Mineral Water led the declining stocks dropping 16.67%, followed by Oman Education and Training Investment with 15.91%.

On the other hand, Takaful Oman Insurance led the gainers and surged 9.86%, followed by Sembcorp Salalah with 3.78%.

Total traded volumes declined by 61.2% to 43.64 million shares compared to 112.57 million shares last week, turnovers also decreased 52.5% to OMR 9.75 million from OMR 20.51 million.

The market cap also lost 0.35%, and reached OMR 17.24 billion from OMR 17.3 million in the previous week.
