Mubasher: The general index of Muscat Securities Market (MSM) rose 0.47% or 25.78 points to reach 5,521.29 points on Tuesday.

The financial sector rose 0.71% as Al Sharqiya Investment Holding, National Bank of Oman (NBO) and Bank Muscat levelled up 3.13%, 1.28% and 0.96% respectively.

The industrial sector gained 0.69% after Oman Flour Mills and Gulf International Chemicals (GICI) went up 4.17% and 1.92% respectively.

The services sector also grew 0.18%, backed by the rise of Renaissance Services, Oman National Engineering and Investment, and Al Jazeira Services by 3.18%, 1.27% and 0.51% respectively. However, United Power fell 4.27%.

Renaissance Services topped gainers. In addition, NBO was the most active stock with a trading volume of 1.68 million shares, while Bank Muscat was the value leader after generating OMR 502,610.

The market saw trading 11.4 million shares on Tuesday, compared to 28.8 million shares on Monday. Turnover stood at OMR 2.57 million, compared to OMR 4.45 million.
