Doha – Mubasher: The benchmark index of the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) closed Wednesday’s trading at the level of 9,793.83 points after rising by 1.53% or 157.43 points.

Trading volume increased 36.436 million shares from 5.88 million shares exchanged on Tuesday, turnover also rose to QAR 652.41 million from QAR 188.7 million.

The market’s sectors advanced collectively, topped by the insurance sector with a growth of 4.89% as Qatar Insurance, up 6.2%, led gainers.

The banking sector levelled up 1.76%, supported by the increase in QNB by 3.76%, the real estate sector grew 1.36% due to the rise in Mazaya Qatar, Barwa Real Estate and Ezdan Holding by 4.12%, 3.70% and 0.89% respectively.

The industrial sector ascended 0.81%, backed by a 3.17% increase in Qatar Industrial Manufacturing, the transportation and consumer goods sectors rose by 0.71% and 0.65% respectively.

The telecom sector advanced 0.12% despite the fall in Vodafone Qatar by 0.34%. The stock led the trading activity with a volume of 27.6 million shares exchanged at QAR 236.09 million.
