Mubasher: The general index of Muscat Securities Market (MSM) gained 0.11% or 6.24 points to reach 5,487.68 points in November.

The financial and industrial sectors went up 1.5% and 1.35% respectively, while the services sector fell 1.19%.

Oman International Development and Investment (Ominvest) was the most active stock after trading 16.68 million shares, representing 20.9% of the bourse’s trading volume.

Bank Sohar was the value leader after generating QAR 42.21 million, accounting for 13.81% of the market’s turnover.

Takaful Oman Insurance topped gainers with a 13.13% rise, followed by Al Sharqiya Investment Holding and Al Jazeira Services which went up 13.13% and 9.36% respectively.

On the flipside, Ooredoo International Finance was the worst performer after falling 5.56% as Sembcorp Salalah Power and Water Co, and United Power levelled down 4.88% and 4.27 respectively.

Market capitalisation reached OMR 89 million this month, compared to OMR 17.126 billion in October. In addition, turnover stood at OMR 79.82 million generated from the exchange of 305.73 million shares.
