Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index ended Sunday’s trading at the level of 10,010.27 points after rising by 0.97% or 96.52 points.

The number of traded shares fell to 8.71 million from 12.73 million shares exchanged on Thursday, turnover also decreased to QAR 200.01 million from QAR 370.37 million.

The real estate sector advanced 1.8% as Barwa Real Estate and Ezdan Holding grew by 2.1% and 2% respectively.

The banking sector leapt 0.84%, backed by an increase of 0.93% in QNB, 1.62% in Commercial Bank of Qatar and 0.98% in QIB.

On the flipside, the insurance sector dropped alone by 0.31%, pressured by the fall in Qatar General Insurance and Doha Insurance by 3.33% and 0.26% respectively.

Vodafone Qatar led the trading activity with a volume of 3.45 million shares exchanged at QAR 31.84 million; the stock rose 4%.
