ADX rises on FGB, Etisalat Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a negative performance on Sunday, weighed down by the fall of ten stocks topped by First Gulf Bank (FGB) and Etisalat.

The general index fell 0.13% or 5.9% points to stand at 4,698.78 points.

The banks sector led losers after falling 1% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and First Gulf Bank (FGB) sank 2.25% and 1.5% respectively. The telecom sector fell 0.8% as Etisalat went down 0.8%.

The insurance sector slid 0.17% after Al Khazna Insurance Co. levelled down 4.44%.

On the flipside, the real estate sector rose 3.8% as Eshraq Properties and Aldar Properties gained 12.9% and 1.9% respectively.

The energy sector increased 1.13% after TAQA went up 5.8%.

Trading volume reached 662.22 million shares on Sunday, compared to 183.17 million shares last Thursday. Turnover amounted to AED 818.02 million, compared to AED 590.495 million.
