Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai International Airport posted on Tuesday a year-on-year rise of 7.2% in the passenger traffic during 2016.

Annual traffic reached 83.6 million passengers in 2016, compared to 78.1 million passengers in 2015, according to a statement.

The number of travellers through Dubai’s airport amounted to 7.7 million in December 2016.

The ever-highest number of passengers was recorded in August 2016 with 7.72 million passengers.

India remained the top destination country with a total of 11.44 million passengers travelled through the airport in 2016, followed by Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom with 6.08 million and 6.06 million passengers respectively.
