Cairo - Mubasher: The treasurer and head of reserves management at Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said that Egypt has repaid a $250 million Libyan deposit with the latest installment to the Paris club.

Rami Abou El-Naga also told Mubasher on Sunday that the CBE has paid for fuel shipments for electric utilities and liquefied natural gas (LNG) stations, as well as for supply commodities to provide a reserve for six to nine months.

Abou El-Naga also indicated that the country has paid its obligations to Eni, Italian oil and gas company, as per the Zohr gas field agreement.

The governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) previously stressed to Mubasher on Tuesday that Egypt is committed to meeting all of its obligations on time.

The Egyptian minister of finance told Mubasher earlier that his ministry is currently considering using all funds collected from international bonds to support the country’s foreign exchange reserve instead of directing it to the general budget deficit.
