Mubasher: Analyst expected that US president Donald Trump's promises to make new reforms' plan and exempt some companies from taxes will offer the US dollar some gains this week.

US dollar index added 0.05% to 100.70 points against a basket of currencies.

The dollar's index returned to above the level of 100 points after the decline of the US jobless claims to their lowest in 43 years, Alaa Aldin Farhan, technical analyst, told Mubasher.

He added that the change of Trump's policy towards China returned the positive expectations around the rise of the dollar's index to the levels of 102 points next week.

Technical analyst, Mahmoud Al Tamer, said that US dollar is still in its upward track on the long term but it is experiencing a temporary downward correction phase.

He added that gold is in a technical downward trend and targets the levels of $1,200 – 1,265 per ounce.
