Mubasher: Global oil prices saw gains in Friday's trades after data released showed a decline in natural gas stockpiles in the US.

By 0717 GMT, US Nymex for March delivery added 0.13% to reach $53.5 per barrel, while Brent crude grew 0.19% to $55.83 pb.

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported late Thursday that natural gas supplies had fallen by around 114 billion cubic feet to 2.445 trillion cubic feet in the week ended 10 February, from 2.559 trillion cubic feet in the week before.

Analysts had expected a decline in US gas supply by around 124 billion cubic feet.

This drop marks the 13th straight weekly decline in US natural gas stockpiles, with the last weekly gain recorded in the week ended 11 November 2016.
