Egypt indices open on flat note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices opened Thursday’s trading on a flat note as the benchmark EGX30 index decreased 0.05% or 6.4 points to the level of 12,395.4 points.

Similarly, the EGX50 index fell 0.07% to 1,970.28 points, while the EGX70 and EGX100 indices rose 0.07% and 0.13%, respectively.

By 10:22am Cairo time, trading volume reached 38 million shares exchanged at EGP 124.6 million.

Net sales by foreign investors amounted to EGP 30 million, while net purchases by local and Arab investors came to EGP 5.33 million and EGP 24.8 million, respectively.

Global Telecom, down 3.76%, was the top loser, while Madinet Nasr Housing, Egyptian Iron and Steel, Palm Hills, and Elsewedy Electric rose between 1.94% and 6.63%.

Heavyweight CIB advanced 0.87% to EGP 75.

The benchmark EGX30 declined on Wednesday by 2.03% or 256.7 points to the level of 12,401.09 points.
