QSE falls on real estate stocks Thursday

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) saw a negative performance on Thursday, weighed down by the fall of real estate stocks.

The main index sank 0.25% or 27.26 points to reach 10,925.40 points.

The real estate sector topped losers with a 0.75% decline as Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development and Ezdan Holding Group sank 1.49% and 0.81%, respectively.

On the other hand, the banks sector topped gainers with a 0.15% rise as Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) went up 1.46%.

The industrial sector rose 0.43% after Qatari Investors Group was the top riser after adding 6.25%.

Turnover amounted to QAR 454.04 million on Thursday, compared to QAR 490.05 million on Wednesday. Trading volume reached 11.2 million shares, compared to 13.81 million shares.

Vodafone Qatar was the top gainer after adding 0.87% and generating 964,300 shares, while Medicare Group fell 1.38% and became the value leader with a turnover of QAR 42.5 million.
