Egypt bourse opens in red

Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) shrank 0.10% or 12.5 points to the level of 12,257.36 points on Monday.

By 10:23am Cairo time, the EGX70 index dropped 0.47% to 481.33 points, and the EGX100 declined 0.32% to 1,158.34 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index stood at 1,926.58 points.

Trading volume reached 19 million shares, as turnover amounted to EGP 57.16 million.

Egyptian Iron and Steel grew 3.72%, Domty advanced 3.08%, and TMG Holding rose 1.43%.

On the other hand, Arab Cotton Ginning fell 3.47%, AMOC dropped 1.51%, and Elsewedy Electric retreated 1.42%.

Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) decreased 0.20% to EGP 73.48.

Net sales by Arab and foreign investors reached EGP 4.46 million and EGP 6.5 million, while net purchases by local investors amounted to EGP 11 million.

The EGX30 index rose on Sunday by 0.24% or 39.35 points to the level of 12,269.88 points.
