Blue chips push ADX to close in red

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a bearish performance on Monday, dragged down by the fall of blue chips.

The general index fell 0.6% or 28.17 points to reach 4,628.56 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 210.396 million on Monday, compared to AED 124.64 million on Sunday. Trading volume reached 137.36 million, compared to 66.97 million.

The telecom sector fell 1.34% as Etisalat decreased 1.34%. The real estate sector also slid 0.34% as Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties sank 1.64% and 4.35%, respectively.

The banks sector tumbled 0.36% as Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) and Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) fell 2.68% and 0.51%, respectively.

Eshraq was the value leader after generating AED 118.24 million from the exchange of 99.96 million shares.
