Egyptian-Brazilian bilateral trade up to $1.9bn

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of trade and industry, Tarek Kabil, said that trade exchange between Egypt and Brazil reached $1.87 billion in 2016, according to a statement issued on Monday.

Brazilian investments in Egypt reached $19.5 million last year, through 26 projects in the fields of cement, food products, and buses.

The Egyptian market has many investment opportunities with great potential in a variety of fields, as it represents the axis for exporting markets with more than 1.6 billion consumer, thanks to the free trade network, the minister noted.

Kabil also indicated that a Brazilian delegation from Invest and Export Brasil will visit the Egyptian capital between 21 and 23 April.

A direct flight line between Egypt and Brazil will begin operating to facilitate the logistics for exports and imports between the two countries, according to the chairman of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
